One simple test of fertility is to measure the circumference of the scrotum whereas a young bull is likely to be fertile once this reaches 28 centimeters (11 in), and that of a fully adult bull may be over 40 centimeters (16 in). {x} However most historical taurine extractions actually came from bile which is more like stomach acid and today it is mostly lab-created.

It was later discovered in the human stomach bile in 1846 by Edmund Ronalds.

Concentrations of taurine exist in the eye retina, and large amounts of the super chemical exist in the brain.

Taurine has many biological roles, such as the conjugation of bile acids, helpful anti-oxidation, osmoregulation, important membrane stabilization, and modern dieters especially, the very helpful modulation of calcium signaling.

It is an essential element for cardiovascular function, and development and function of skeletal muscle, the eye retina, and the human central nervous system.
