Best Cassava Manioc, Rankings, Benefits, Cancer Cure & Experience

Here at the Nutritional Diversity Study Center in Panama where I write to you today, we grow a lot of tropical America’s native stomach medicine Manihot esculenta known here more commonly as “yuca, cassava.”

Manioc is native to South America of the spurge family, Euphorbiaceae.

Panama features one of the crop’s best yields.

The strong species is a very large part of our healing, health, and performance studies, empowering our group, among the greater community that has discovered some of the powerful aspects of manioc, aside from her strong growth.

Our team mostly uses her leaves, which is uncommon but we have found the whole leaf essence to be incredibly powerful in the field, especially for those moving the shovelhead all day.

Stress-induced hormones are essential for plants to modulate their microbiota and dynamically adjust to the environment. I am always focused on having a stressor “exercise” regimen for my babies. In the case of my cassava plants, I put them in the base of a breezy alley on the farm.

The “cancer cure” root tuber, has a plethora of benefits and is one of the stronger carbohydrate foods used to sustain the heavy activity in the humid heat, on the tropical farm.

According to Dr. Cynthia Jayasuriya when a cancer patient consumes the cooked best cassava; Vitamin B17 combines in the normal human cell with an enzyme called Rhodanese, which breaks down the B17 into three sugars.

The cancer cell, which is an immature cell, has a different enzyme, beta-glucosidase, which breaks the B17 into glucose, benzaldehyde, and hydrocyanic acid.

The hydrocyanic acid acts like an LTTE cyanide capsule, killing the cancer cell. To date, the doctor’s claims have been proven true, time and time again (See below under “BENEFITS“).

Other foods rich in B17 are, watercress, spinach, bamboo sprouts, alfalfa sprouts, lentil sprouts, whole nuts, mung bean sprouts, and ground nuts/seeds: (we do not recommend any non-sprouted bean or seed foods in our Nutritional Diversity diet plans), apricot seeds, garbanzo sprouts, apple seeds, and orange seeds.

Medicine for cancer attests only a small part to the strength of Manihot esculenta.

Studies across the world have considered the cassava plant as a hunger crisis relief crop, as it produces in even poor soil conditions.

Studies where the crop supports more than 800 million people, in Africa, by the University of Michigan State, found the crop resistant to drought, also locust attacks.

The study found the crop to be very helpful in hungry times, and that’s what we see here too, a lot of cassava growing, and harvested by families mostly in cases of temporary financial drought. The tuber is very inexpensive in markets ($0.27 lb).

According to the United Nations Food Security & Nutrition leg (FAO), the woody shrub is also known as manioc, yuca, tapioca, and mandioca is the third most important crop to many of the developing worlds evaluated by food and welfare agencies.

On our farm we will surely never starve simply because of our stock in this one crop, we rarely touch the tubers. I grow it usually with a few other things, like basil, patchouli, or damiana. It is relatively unmolested by bugs usually just by itself.

One helpful aspect of growing these few things together is loosening up some rather hard clay terraces. If I have new areas I designate for planting and I have not been able to coat in terra preta or high-quality soil base one thing I may do is the above combination. If it is really tough stuff, I may add in some smaller root herbs such as turmeric.

The root tubers are highly productive, dense carbohydrate food, which is also very cheap and abundant in the economy.

In the United States, and Canada the crop is almost unheard of but will cultivate fine in most states with the right attention.

I love cassava, this is one of my favorite crops, it is a staple to the poor world and to the Nutritional Diversity diet. I have to love this species because she is tough, can get down anywhere like me, has a large bottom end, and a bright shiny energy-giving face.

Study after study is showing this gluten substitute perfect for new dieters, and that has curative effects on most types of cancer.

BENEFITS

The best cassava kills all sorts of cancer. In 2016 the important manioc genome was sequenced. [1,2]

The in vitro cytotoxic assays showed linamarin extracted from cassava plants inhibited the growth and killed various cancer cells such as ovarian cancer, breast cancer, and leukemia. [3,4,5] Prostate cancer cured by cassava consumption. [6]

The number one crop to the Amazonian people, a species from and domesticated over time in the Amazon appears in many diverse strains throughout the Amazon. While it’s not completely clear if this was human-assisted or human-plant co-evolution or the powerful plants’ own adaptability to certain different soil types, there is a large spectrum of diverse structure patterns with the genus.  [7,8,9,10]

As we have noticed on our farm in our testing, the leaves have a strong antioxidant, and antiradical property, in this reactive oxidant species (ROS) is able to combat

harmful infectious substances in the body. [11,12,13] On the farm a few leaves in the mix, notably give a little boost to the day surely the lack of lag caused by infectious stuff is a part of that. The leaves also present high nitrogen availability. [14]

The activity in digestion inhibits signaling associated with conditions such as stomach fibrosis and Crohn’s disease. [15]

The effects of these polyphenols will be explored, such as their role in preventing degenerative disorders like cancers, diabetes, osteoporosis, and cardiovascular and neurological diseases [16].

In this study, is the first genome-wide analysis of Lhc superfamily genes in the Euphorbiaceae family. The first is jatropha (Jatropha curcas L., Euphorbiaceae), an oil-bearing plant for biodiesel purposes. A total of 27 members were identified from the jatropha genome, which was shown to distribute over nine out of the 11 chromosomes. The superfamily number is comparable to 28 present in castor (Ricinus communis, Euphorbiaceae). Relatively less than 35 in cassava (Manihot esculenta, Euphorbiaceae) and 34 in arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana) that experienced one or two recent whole-genome duplications (WGDs), respectively. In contrast to a high number of paralogs present in cassava and arabidopsis. [17]

Cassava foliage (leaves) greatly increased the health and performance of lambs. [18]

Leaf extracts functioned as a diarrhea treatment in animal testing. [19]

SIDE EFFECTS

Cassava should be consumed within a high diversity of other foods, and should not be consumed all the time without such diversity, and this goes for all strong foods like her. [x]

Never, eat ginger with manioc, or even after consuming manioc. If you have been eating the best cassava, do not consume any form of ginger or ginger products, such as ginger beer and ginger-nut biscuits. The serious risks of mixing ginger with manioc are well known to the cultures who use it a lot.

These kinds of important food combinations and anti-combinations are why you want to get your information from people who study high diversities of foods. We have reason to believe a sufficiently high diversity of foods may even be able to lessen the negative effect of things like ginger and cassava together.

Cassava contains cyanogenic glycosides, such as linamarin and lotaustralin, that can trigger severe toxic effects and some neurological disorders, including motor impairment, cognitive deterioration, and symptoms that characterize tropical ataxic neuropathy and spastic epidemic paraparesis (Konzo). These alterations that are associated with the consumption of cassava or its derivatives have been reported in both humans and experimental animals. [x]

This is reportedly reversed by Ginkgo Biloba extract [x] our general take on toxic effects is that they become nullified by appropriate special diversity.

When preparing manioc for eating, check whether the tuber shows a blue line when peeled for cooking. If there is a blue line, the manioc must be rejected. Manioc has cyanide in it and the blue line is an indication of cyanide emergence.

Cook Manioc in an earthenware pot if possible. Fill the pot with water to completely cover the manioc, and well above the level of the manioc. When boiling, keep the pot open. Do not close the pot with a lid, we want a certain chemical essence to cook out of the tuber. Once the manioc is boiled, throw away the water in the pot.

Remember if you need it again, NutritionalDiversity.com has the complete Manihot (and a bunch of other species we recommend) user manual.

EXPERIENCE

Cassava roots are close to what we know as white potatoes, cassava contains almost twice the calories, and may be the highest-calorie tuber known.

One cup of boiled cassava contains 330 calories, 78 grams of carbohydrates, 3 grams of protein, and 4 grams of fiber and sugar. The leaves contain more protein than the roots and are also edible. The tuberous root of the cassava plant or ‘yuca’ or ‘manioc,’ like the potato is best cooked before eating.

I use the yuca cassava leaves, which is not the traditional thing to do, in fact on this Caribbean farm, we are probably the only ones on this island or maybe even in this province eating the cassava leaves the way we are.

I have not seen leaf consumption elsewhere, and the rumor of toxicity is well known for those who like to know something about their stuff. You can’t believe everything you read.

My Old Schooler Lee told me though he did hear of a man who could work all day no problem, who consumed the leaves and regarded them as power-giving.

You need to find out on your own.

The South American originating plant has made its point as far as the team here is concerned. We are lucky to receive some of her best yields here in Panama. [x]

I use the leaves and the tubers all the time. I love this plant.

It is too easy and important to switch to this flour, and now more ever than before it is important to do your own baking.

DISCUSSION

Historical

It is known by many indigenous populations to be effective against many health concerns and contains many health benefits especially those for the skin and gut.

Cassava is still grown today by the uncontaminated tribes of the Amazon jungle, a fact discovered by airplane observation of their camp over the Southern range of Colombia.

These people by the way also still coat their bodies in red and black paint as depicted in many Mayan artworks. Cassava manioc was one of the larger cultivars observed, and the plants were operatically around their largest shelter for about 300 yards. [x]

It has been learned also that manioc just like every other crop should not be grown in a monoculture style of farming. [x]

Modern

Cassava grows like crazy even in poor soil, it is a strong grower that grows well in permaculture, of many different elevations and temperatures.  We let some of these guys go and go, and having animals here, and a few bodies to feed regularly it’s nice to have a backup stock of food.

We do eat the tuber about once a week, and it will outgrow our consumption as a team of five here at a time, constantly. We also cook up a good bit for the animals regularly and we have a nutritionally diverse food recipe we make for the chickens that have boiled cassava mash in it usually.

Powdered and pudding-ed cassava is known as tapioca. There is a fermented flaky version known as gari. Cassava is the third-largest carbohydrate energy staple following rice, and corn (maize).

Cassava is to blame for providing a basic diet for over half a billion people, in the developing world, Nigeria is the largest cultivator, and Thailand is the larger dried and powdered exporter.

Cassava is an avid grower and will go off in many moderate soil conditions. Cassava is a great food to write about because it needs diversity, it benefits greatly from other amino acids and plant chemicals to really properly break down and be optimally digested.

Cassava Alternative Uses

For all the allergies, you’ll like this root tuber as it is gluten-free, grain-free, and nut-free.

It can be grated and ground into flour for baking, Cassava root consumption should be limited by the Nutritional Diversification practitioner because of its anti-nutrients that inhibit certain amounts of important vitamin uptake.

It should, however, be included somewhere in the diet, and the diets of animals in the family, because of its resistant starch and the benefits of resistant starch.

Cyanide exists in the tuber in a small amount but can produce a lethargic aftereffect. It’s great training food, but keep in mind not to use it around game time. Eat yuca cassava manioc root in an isolated eating increment, with maybe some excellent garlic sauce.

Stomach Cancer

Dr. Manuel Navarro of the Philippians, claims he has treated numerous cases of cancer with cassava, all successful. Another might as well be a doctor friend of mine who has had this same success with  Ambrosia, and there are likely millions of planets that can have results of course the Nutritional Diversity diet, is the sure way.

What I like so much about cassava is that it is good food. It is cheap, and many rich websites talk trash about it -but they are just jealous.

“They live through me like a lens catches the sun. I can tell they are not having any fun. Living in fear is drowning in tears. That is no life for me. “

Documentation out around the net says too many of the leaves could be toxic and warns of saponins and

With the Nutritional Diversity diet study, getting to know wild plants in your area, is a fun and beneficial adventure. Click to read about a wild plant I have written about recently.

I met the account of a man who peeled all the skin from the tuber, about an inch down her said. then he would great it, and eat it just like that, or blend it and cheesecloth strain the yellowish juice to drink, without cooking it, to treat his stomach cancer. I later saw this same protocol online.

Yuca Plastic

A company in Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia called Avanico, has manufactured a yucca cassava-based plastic replacement. It is a 100% biodegradable, plant-based material in a region of the world up to its brim with plastic garbage.

They have created drink straw replacements, and cup and plate replacements also although these products at further investigation reveal that their biodegradability is dependent on composting, under specific compositing qualifications such as microbes and high temperatures.

FAQ

Q. Does yucca flour work with Brazillian crepes for example?

A. It is great for Brazilian crepes. It is fine and moisture content is within the normal range for baking, cooking and more.

Q. Does it swap cup for cup with normal flour?

A. Yes, you can swap a cup for a cup but this also depends on what you are making. When I use cassava flour at home (which I do a lot) I usually start from 3/4 cup swap per cup of regular flour and then add more cassava flour if the recipe is too runny.

Q. What kinds of things do you (author) make with the flour?

A. I’ve made muffins, pizza crust, pancakes, and chocolate chip cookies which are my favorite with it using normal recipes, and all of them have turned out great.

Q. What is the main difference if any or working with the cassava flour v.s. regular?

A. If anything depending on the brand, the cassava flour can cause things to be a bit more crispy or crunchy in the end.

Q. Does cassava flour have vitamin b17?

A. Yes.

Q. Is switching to cassava flour the best line of defense against breast cancer?

A. If you have breast cancer genes in the family I would recommend all tortillas moving forward be made with Maniot flour. It very well could be a line of defense for the disease, especially if taken with a highly diverse diet.

Q. Where is cassava native?

A. Cassava plant is a woody shrub native to South America.

Q. Which plant family does cassava belong to?

A. Cassava is a member of the Euphorbiaceae family.

Q. What form of the plant is cassava?

A. Cassava is a perennial plant with conspicuous, fan-shaped leaves deeply parted into five to nine lobes.

Q. What temperature range is best for cassava growth?

A. Cassava grows best in locales with a temperature range of 25-29°C (77-84°F), and a soil temperature of about 30°C (86°F) and below 10°C (50°F) the plant stops growing.

Q. Which countries are the top producers of cassava plants?

A. Nigeria ranks top, followed by Thailand and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Q. What is cassava character?

A. Cassava is one of the most drought-tolerant crops and it can be grown on marginal soils, and gives reasonable yields.

Q. Are there any known medicinal properties associated with cassava?

A. There is no known medicinal property related to cassava.

Q. How long does a cassava plant take to mature?

A. Generally cassava matures in 9-24 months or up to 36 months depending on the variety, specific climate, and soil quality.

Q. How to grow cassava?

A. Cassava cuttings may be planted straight. Press the earth well down round the cuttings.

Q. How to harvest cassava?

A. Cassava is harvested manually by raising the lower part of the stem, drawing the roots out of the ground, and removing them from the plant base.

Q. What are some common pest issues associated with cassava plants?

A. Cassava plants are susceptible to rodents, wild boars, and termites.

Q. What other nutrients does cassava contain?

A. Raw cassava has 60% water, 38% carbohydrates, 1% protein, and little fat. In a 100-gram amount, raw cassava gives about 160 calories and contains 25% of the daily consumption value for vitamin C.

Q. What are some other uses of cassava?

A. Cassava is intensively being researched to produce ethanol biofuel in many countries. Cassava tubers and hay are used worldwide as animal feed. In many underdeveloped countries, it is also employed as starch for washing.

Q. Is there something to watch out for in cassava for food use?

A. A cyanide-producing sugar derivative is present in varying amounts in most varieties. For some smaller-rooted, sweet varieties, cooking is sufficient to eliminate all toxicity. The larger-rooted, bitter varieties used for the production of flour or starch must be processed to remove the toxins. The larger roots are peeled and then ground into flour, which is then soaked in water, squeezed dry, and toasted.

RECAP

Don’t mix with ginger.

Fresh, and cooked cassava leaf, can be an excellent source of protein and energy.

Boiled soft, on a regular basis the tuber can do wonders for preventative and curative action surrounding stomach issues.

The entire plant is an ND diet select, superfood.

It could grow well wherever you are now.

A ferment could be cool.

The cost of importation should be very minimal in comparison to other products, and being that it grows so well on its own it is not often that you see chemicals being used for its cultivation.

“Who controls the food supply controls the people.” – Henry Kissinger [i]

Imagine If 20% of the Population Took Action Today: A Vision for Nutritional Diversity and Land Restoration

A Future Shaped by Small Alternative Agricultures

Imagine if, starting today, one in five people took up the challenge of cultivating small-scale alternative agriculture—permaculture food forests, regenerative farms, nutrient-dense wild plots, and biodiverse gardens—all designed to support the Nutritional Diversity Diet.

Where would we be in five, ten, or twenty years?

Five Years: The Awakening of the Land

  • Millions of small plots, backyards, and vacant lands transformed into living, breathing ecosystems.
  • Urban and rural landscapes are interwoven with perennial food systems, soil-building crops, and high-density nutrition.
  • Local communities regaining food sovereignty, free from chemical-dependent supply chains.
  • A new generation of eco-entrepreneurs emerges, pioneering micro-farms that thrive on biodiversity, not monoculture.

Ten Years: The Turning Point

  • Soil once depleted by industrial agriculture now teeming with life, enriched by microbial diversity.
  • A shift in global nutrition: Gut health improves, disease rates drop, and food security becomes decentralized.
  • Rivers and oceans heal as synthetic fertilizers and agricultural runoff disappear.
  • AI-driven ecological monitoring and drone-assisted reforestation bring back lost biodiversity.
  • Carbon sequestration skyrockets as trees, fungi, and regenerative landscapes capture atmospheric carbon at scale.

Twenty Years: A Thriving Regenerative Civilization

  • Industrial farming is replaced by hyper-diverse, closed-loop food systems.
  • A self-sustaining, nutritionally complete ecosystem supports human health and planetary stability.
  • No longer a “niche practice,” biodiverse agriculture becomes the foundation of global food production.
  • The climate stabilizes, deserts are reclaimed, and the world breathes in balance with nature.
  • Humanity lives longer, stronger, and more harmoniously, nourished by food systems that heal instead of harm.

Call to Action: The Time Is Now

This is not a distant dream—it is a blueprint for action. With the right support, incentives, and knowledge-sharing networks, we can make this vision a reality.

We propose the Nutritional Diversity Ecological Enhancement Initiative, a scalable, measurable, and globally replicable system to:
✅ Provide tools, education, and guidance to small-scale land stewards.
✅ Establish financial and technological support for high-diversity micro-farms.
✅ Integrate AI, drone technology, and microbial soil innovations for rapid ecosystem regeneration.
✅ Create global food security by focusing on nutrient density over yield quantity.
✅ Develop decentralized marketplaces, ensuring farmers thrive economically while enhancing ecosystems.

We invite partners, visionaries, and world leaders to be part of this movement—to fund, support, and ignite a regenerative revolution.

🌱 The first seeds of change are ready to be planted. Will you be among the first to grow the future?

What Happens When We Take Action?

When 20% of the population actively participates in alternative agriculture and land regeneration, we initiate a chain reaction—one that transforms food systems, ecosystems, human health, and even the global economy.

Phase 1: The Shift Begins (Years 1-5)

  • People reclaim land—from vacant lots to degraded soil, rooftops to backyards—turning them into diverse, regenerative food systems.
  • Microbial restoration kicks in as synthetic inputs are abandoned in favor of probiotic soil amendments, composting, and mycoremediation.
  • Communities reconnect through local food exchanges, cooperative farming models, and educational hubs that teach Nutritional Diversity principles.
  • Corporate agriculture feels the shift—as millions of people begin sourcing food from local, nutrient-dense, chemical-free alternatives.
  • Consumer health improves as gut microbiomes are restored, chronic disease rates decline, and processed food dependency weakens.

Phase 2: The Turning Point (Years 5-10)

  • A new agricultural economy emerges, where small-scale, biodiverse farms outperform industrial monocultures in nutrition, sustainability, and resilience.
  • Desertified lands begin to heal, carbon is pulled from the atmosphere, and regenerative land practices stabilize microclimates.
  • Big agriculture is forced to adapt—industries pivot to regenerative practices or face extinction as decentralized food systems thrive.
  • Nutritional intelligence spreads, with functional medicine and whole-food-based nutrition becoming the global standard.
  • Biodiversity explodes—pollinators, wildlife, and native plants return, forming self-sustaining ecosystems within human environments.

Phase 3: A Regenerative Future (Years 10-20)

  • Human health reaches a new peak, with stronger immune systems, fewer metabolic diseases, and a lifespan extended by decades through nutrient-rich diets.
  • The climate crisis reverses itself, as forests, soil, and mycorrhizal networks become major carbon sinks, cooling the planet naturally.
  • Oceans heal, as agricultural runoff ceases, marine food chains restore, and dead zones shrink.
  • New economic powerhouses emerge, built on regenerative production, decentralized supply chains, and abundance-based commerce.
  • Governments and corporations embrace the movement, integrating nutritional diversity farming and ecosystem repair into global policy.

The Inevitable Future—If We Act Now

This isn’t speculation—this will happen if enough people take action. The first adopters set the stage, and as results multiply, the movement scales exponentially.

The Nutritional Diversity Ecological Enhancement Initiative is designed to facilitate, accelerate, and scale this transformation.

👉 We have the tools. We have the knowledge. We have the opportunity.

🔥 The only question is: How fast do we want this future to arrive?

….. another question could be can we implement through the younger generation and video games!???
